Homericus NunciusFelice Vinci’s first book on his Theory on Troy is called Homericus Nuncius and it was published in Italy in 1993. It is a short book, under 200 pages with some photos and maps, and a brief list of sources. The book presents Vinci’s theory according to which the events of Homer’s epics did not take place in the Mediterranean but rather in the Baltic region and the North Atlantic. After a few more years of study in the matter Vinci published his second book, Omero nel Baltico, which is a more extensive presentation of the theory. The crux of the theory remains the same, but now more material has been studied and more angles to the argument explored. The second book is a better organized handling of the theme and has a clearer appearance than the first one. A more studied use of maps and photos provides a welcome addition to the reading experience. Already the third edition of Omero nel Baltico has come out in Italy. A translation into Finnish is hoped to appear soon.
